Let the process begin......

The figures

First steps taking today!  Making the master mould. First up aligning the figures in the silican based mould and adding the alignement studds. Also removed the centre so it fits into the machinary for spinning.

The mould is then added to the compressor base (want for a better word) with lots of silican spray to help release it


Its then added to this beast and vulcanised for about an hour at 110 degrees.

Once cooked the mould is removed and ready for cutting the channels and feeds. This is were cuts are made to allow the flow of metal on spinning. Once completed its ready for some master figures!

Before it looks like I know what this is all about...Id like to thank Mike from Black Hat Miniatures. Mikes provided me with the means, skills and time to start this process and its his skills thats running the show! So big thanks to Mike

This week......

I will be mostly making master and production moulds for my new figures.....

Im particularly excited by this and will include a diary and pics on how its done.

When I say this week, I mean if and when I get the chance after dealing with the kids..... The week after may be more realistic as I will be on gardening leave. Notice handed in last Friday and Ive a few weeks before my new job!

Thanks all

Im excited to say that Ill be beginning the production phase very soon. Im going to take a final look at the figures and decide on any modifications and then begin the master and production moulding process. A good friend is going to help me out with this process and casting the miniatures. Hes in the business with years of experiance, so Im hoping it will be a painless experiance. Best of all, he lives round the corner from me :)

As for the modifications, Im thinking of adding some sights to a few weapons, grenade launcher and a rpg armmo backpack such as this one to a ammo carrier

Yep.....greens are on the way.

Very excited by them, so without further ado...here they are

Im particularly pleased with the squad weapons guys and commander, have the right mix of  future/modern war weaponary with the old school rpg, AK and PK . Now just need to test the water and see if anybody would like them

A begining......

Well....here it all begins

I’ve jumped from hobbyist to hobbyist with some figures of my own. Why, well I’ve always fancied giving this a go and thanks to an unexpected windfall I’ve got some cash to do it. Do it, being creating a squad size of 15mm sci-fi figures, whom I will use and if possible make some cash back by selling. If I don’t, then no big loss as bottom line is I have my own unique set of figures for some gaming.

So to begin with, I’m now commissioning 10 15mm figures. They are more future war then sci-fi I guess, however consist of one squad leader,  1 light weapons, 1 anti tank light weapon and 7 infantry troops, each being a different figure.

I have seen the very first figure and I am very excited to say the least. More details to follow as and when I have more figures and pictures to follow. I don't want let the cat out of the bag, so to speak, however I cans safely say they fit in quite nicely with the Tomorrow's war theme.
